BRB VCE Term 1 Is Over And School Is Out…For Now – Here Are 3 Essential Things You Must Do To Maximise These Holidays

Term one is over..?

How quick does time fly when you’re having fun? It seemed like yesterday when we were talking about your first day of Year 12 and now it’s already time to say goodbye to Term 1. With all your first SACs, 18th birthday parties and other school leadership activities out of the way, it’s time for a well deserved break.

But before you enjoy it for too long, don’t forget there are only 2 more terms and 2 weeks left before the final exams. So lets make every minute count. Use this break wisely to take a rest, but also get ahead. Don’t even touch your textbooks or even think about VCE on the weekends and evenings, but try spend routine school hours (8:30-3:15) every day to revise everything you’ve learnt and pre-learn the topics coming up.

Even if it’s not the full school day you are spending towards revision, you’ll still be weeks ahead of your classmates if you dedicate a few hours every day to revise the content of Term 1 and prepare yourself for Term 2. It’s still too early to begin full practise papers so channel your focus towards 3 things:

Thing Number 1:

Collate all your Term 1 notes and make sure they cover everything that is detailed on the study design. We promise you’ll be thanking yourself when you already have your complete Term 1 notes during SWOTVAC and your classmates are struggling to recall that far back.

Thing Number 2:

Ask your teachers what topics will be covered in the first half of Term 2. Find textbook chapters and online videos about the topics so you are more prepared than anyone else in the class. Literally just watch one video on each sub topic, it will make a difference.

Thing Number 3:

Start your day doing something productive. Momentum is real people. If you start your day watching Vampire Diaries or Suits and you end up watching 1,2 or 10 episodes more than you should have..it will negatively impact your productivity for the rest of the day.

Start with studying or working out or mediating (Yes we’re serious, hummm). Smash it out in the morning and procrastinate guilt-free for the rest of the day.

Besides these 3 essential tasks, the rest of the holidays are all yours.

We’ll see you back here in Term 2.
